Class 3

2018 - 2019 Miss Coope

Welcome to Year 3 and Key Stage 2!

We have a very exciting year ahead and are looking forward to settling in to our new topics and routines.

The adults working in Year 3 this year are Miss Coope, Mrs Warrington and Mrs Rutter.

General Reminders:

Snack: Children in KS2 no longer receive free fruit so they are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack for break time. There is also a snack bar at play time with a range of snacks that can be purchased for prices between 25p-£1.

Swimming: Year 3 will have swimming lessons for the first half term of every term. These lessons will be on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure children bring an appropriate swimming kit every Thursday. We do ask for a contribution of £2.50 towards the cost of the coach. Children who do not have a swimming kit will not be able to take part in the lessons.

PE lessons take place every Monday and Friday. To make it simple, a full PE kit can be sent in at the start of a half term and it can go home to be washed at the half term holiday.  A full kit consists of shorts/joggers, t-shirt and pumps/trainers. If children do not have a full PE kit they will be unable to take part in the lesson and a reminder letter will be sent home.

Recorders: Mr Eccles will be teaching the children how to play the recorder every Wednesday - I'm sure you are all looking forward to the performances!

Clothing: Please ensure all items of clothing and school bags are labelled with your child's name so that there is no confusion if it is picked up by someone else. Children are responsible for their own items of clothing and anything they bring into school!

Reading: Our aim in Class 3 is to encourage and support children to become confident, successful readers. As well as reading independently, the children take part in guided reading sessions. Please read and share books with your child at home as often as possible as this really does improve their reading and inference skills.

Thank you for your support.
